woohoo =) thankyou so much i spent the last hour trying to figure out how to remove DEM altitude data, there was no option in the join tab in gmaptool like it said in the help files.

The link in post# 21 is World map version 5.0 so includes Greece.

I have used this one (v5.01) and followed the instructions in here post# 95 to remove DEM data ... [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and I think this would also be the best for your mobile phone.
The file size after removing DEM is 18.9 MB (19,836,928 bytes)

the img is the same , just DEM has been removed for faster map drawing on some devices

My GPS's preloaded Basemap is just "Worldwide DEM Basemap, NR" not including any version no. I've already downloaded "Garmin Worldwide Autoroute DEM Basemap NR 5.01" and curious to know it is more accurate or more perfect than preloaded one. Preloaded "gmapbmap.img" is directly under C:\Garmin folder. Do I need to unlock the 5.01 map if I want to use on my Computer and GPS? Or just replace the old gmapbmap.img file with new one? Thank!
