    Yes, it is!

I allready done it like that way!
The new SD-card has the same folder named "GARMIN" (on the old SD-card is written with big letters - so I did it the same way on the new SD-card) with "gmapsupp2.img".
"gmapsupp2.img" because that are not the same maps (I thinks so). Because the old maps (2009) were not separately available at the time I bought them. Today it's so, that all of maps are separately available. Because of that, I renamed the "gmapsupp.img" to "gmasupp2.img".

I would like to know that also! :-) I don't know how! The fact is, that the navigation DOES operate WITHOUT the SD-card in the Kenwood. I think it's enoght to load the maps once and than you can take the SD-cards (with the maps) away. The question is:

HOW can I get the unlocked 2010 maps on the Kenwood??

If you use the name for a secondary supplemental map it should be "gmapsup2.img" (NOT 'gmapsupp2.img'). Most Garmin IMG-names use the old MS-DOS style with 8+3 limit. One exception is "gmapprom1.img".

Also check for latest firmware "KNA G520 software version 4.10" as of July 7, 2010. Maybe something is added to support 2010-2011 maps like the comment for Middle East and v4.00 or that you're using a SDHC card with a FW < v4.10?
    Change History
Changes made from version 4.00 to 4.10:

    * Added support for high-density SD cards to handle future map updates.

Changes made from version 3.90 to 4.00:

    * Fixed compatibility issue with 2010 Middle Eastern map
One problem that may occur with a new firmware would be possible implementation of GMA digital certificates for MapIDs >= 2200. That should however not be a problem with a unlocked map.

    Thank you for your advise!

But, I allready do have the newest firmware (4.10). I loadet it yesterday.

I renamed the file into the Garmin folder to "gmapsup2.img" and I put the SD-card again into Kenwood and nothing happened again.

Do you know, how to bring the map (2009) which is in the device (Kenwood) out of them and to bring the new (unlocked) maps into Kenwood??

    Thanks for your help!

    THAT IS IT! It works!

Hey guys, THANK YOU SO MUCH for your help and patience!

The only thing which I have to follow is to have the SD-card in the unit. Otherwise the unit swiches back to the old maps. From the moment on, when I put the SD-card with the new unlocked maps, the unit loads the maps and they are immediately available.

I can't belive it, that it works!

I'm travelling to Europe in a couple of weeks - end of this month to be more precise - and I was wandering when CNEU 2011.20 is going to be released? Has someone got a clue ? I know that CNEU 2011.10 is pretty reliable, but I'm just curious about it.
