if you take a look in your (in XP - C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\GARMIN\Maps or
in Vista, Windows 7 - C:\ProgramData\GARMIN\maps) folder, enabling hidden files in windows you'll see the North America 2010.40 folder.
You can substitute the old one with the new one: no mapsource installation needed

I made this way buy I get this message when I try to open Mapsource:
Runtime Error!
Program: C:\Garmin\MapSource.exe
Please help.
