hmm cant get any of that work, seems to be locked to a particular unit, get the same result when I download directly from garmin it locks it to a particular unit and wont let me delete so it can be unlocked to another.

Hi,
In "unlocked IMG rename gmapsupp.img and copy in a garmin directory"
I used the file as is "gmapsupp.img" after I deleted the gmapsupp.img. Will this make a difference or is it better to keep the original as is and add the new file to a sim card?
The main reason I've done this update -since I have never updated my device-,was because the other day I had to go to a job interview and couldn't find the freaking street, even postal code option didn't provide directions, so I had to stop by a store and look it up in the map book.
Well, Garmin says V.2011, well the street isn't there yet. So can I get map source and use it as a back-up on the memory card?Last edited by jeeper01ca; 7th June 2010 at 09:46 AM.

No need to have old and new map on device, it could just slow down device or (in some cases) map on SD will not work

It is always good to have MapSource version on PC (backup), and you can transfer to device complete map or only part you need

OK I just installed Garmin 5.00.70. Used the KeyGen. I also downloaded gmapsupp.img and put it in D:\GarminMobilePC (default installation directory) but when I when I run GMPC it asks me for detail maps. Did I miss any steps ?

copy it in GarminMobilePC folder but you need the unlock file probably, use jetmouse keygen to unlock it, use your GarminMobilePC id
You have to navigate to get to the good.

OK just ran gmapsupp.img through GarminUnlockerAlternate v2.4 with header Garmin City Navigator© NT 2011.10 and MapsetName as USA (unlocked). Img fine is in unlocked directory but GMPC still asks for detailed maps.

Download unlocked MapSource, install it and transfer map directly to Garmin Mobile PC, or
download unlocked IMG and copy gmapsupp.img to GarminMobilePC folder

Hello all, I have a little problem I cannot seem to unlock my map with Garmin Keygen 1.5. I have read the forums and have downloaded and use the patched mapsource, but still doesn't work. I have also downloaded the newest version 6.16.1 which includes the patch… and it still is an invalid key. Does anyone have any suggestion?
