    The map is not locked. apparently i can even see it in the "manage my data" section of garmin. it doesnot ask for any code. but apparently nothing is showing up in the search menu and neither can i see the map.

    Do you have the previous TSM V10 in your device and enable it ? If yes, disable the previous one first because it has the same FID.

    Or , if you are sure everything is allright--> try soft reset.
