    Thanks for the comments. After reading a bit on gmaptool (4.8) and using it on the map, indeed one of the mapfiles was at 31. So I corrected this per write, set priority to 25, closed the program, reopened and verified all at 25, then copied to garmin. Rebooting garmin there are still two maps showing.
    This appears to be a harmless artifact, so the fix may be rhetorical since the map appears to show up correctly.
    As I stated previously the second mapfile appears on the garmin to have less detail than the first, but it is a bit weird.
    Suggestions beyond leave it alone?
