Default Open Topo V2 Maps in Marine device

Is there any possibility to open V2 topo maps on a Garmin 525S device?
I would like to use the Garmin Topo V2 where no sea chart has coverage.
When I try to open a topo V2 map the plotter says that the chart format is not supported.
It is no problem to open V1 Topo Maps

    Try use Gmaptool:
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    1) Open gmapsupp.img file
    2) Go to Option tab and tag Experimental Options.
    3) Go to Write tab, tag TRE parameters and then type (2)=4, (3)=23. 4) Press Write all at the end.
    4) Put SD to the plotter and give us to know result...

Do not forget keep reserve copy of original gmapsupp.img on PC!

I see that Garmin Topo Sweden V2 maps are compatible with most of the gpsmap series, etrex, nuvis even zumos so wondering what is the problem runnig the map on gpsmap 525s. Maybe different map format than V1? Could be NT vs. non-NT. Maybe something in the header of the map prevents the map from running. Need exploring deeper the problem.

This non readable picture is normally for all marine device with NT maps! No roads and trails are visible in forest. TYP file may cure it! Unfortunately Garmin do not want make support for TYP file in marine device!

This site is quite helpful. I'm having an issue with nRoute. Dlowloaded locked Mapsource CN South America NT 2012.30. Installed. Then unlocked with mapset_unlocker.exe. Seems to have worked as MapSource does not request to unlock map. Question is how do I get nRoute to recognize the mapset? I used the latest JM unlocker to generate an unlock before using mapset unlocker. However the Garmin Map unlocker reported an error below. Any suggestions?

No TYP support in marine devices Only one way it is changing polygon type in img. But NT format is not editable now.

nRoute is based on working with map format and map additions at the time nRoute was discontinued (latest release from April, 2007). That means all map tiles in multiple IMG-files.
Garmin has a tool for converting older IMG map tiles to a GMAP-structure. You would need the opposite like this independent tool that reverse engineer a GMAP-structure to older IMG map family.

    @ kalleh

I am not very familiar with the marine garmin units but unfortunately have a feeling Giomen words are correct. But if you want to experiment with the NT type file you can try using popejs' ntify editing tool. Here you can find also useful information:
