Thread: Post here please your help request regarding Garmin

My cousin have nuvi 255w with City Navigator Europe 2008, so can I put newer maps using Mapsource and City Navigator Europe 2012.10 into nuvi 255w?
Do I have delete old maps (make backup map) and use any k-gen tools to put newer maps?

Question: photo navigation shut down

I have a Oregon 450. I have geotagged (geosetter) several photos of huts in the alps for photo navigation.
Everything works fine till I exeed the number of 18 photos. With the 19th photo the Oregon shuts down when I start browsing for a hut.
Average photo size is around 80KB. The photos are on SD but the same happens when they are on the Oregon.

Any ideas???

I want of course upload much more than 18 mountain huts!!

I have a nuvi 3790lmt. The other day, while driving, i had an incoming call and the unit froze.
Now when I try to turn it on it shows the Garmin Logo, then the copyright information and the says Loading maps and freezes there. I believe the map file is corrupt.
I've tried to perform a hard reset or access the unit by an USB cable but every time it freezes in the same screen, Loading maps.
I've written to Garmin support but they didn't answered yet (don't believe in the three-day-response...)

Does anyone have any ideas?

I'm using a Garmin Chartplotter for offshore fishing. I have the Brownsville to Key Largo G2 Vision. When using the G2 Vision in Home Port I would like to have county line overlay for the coastal counties of TX, LA, MS, Al, FL. Can that be stripped out of some other image file for use like this? TIA

I am attempting to join several automatically saved tracks: xxx1.gpx, xxx2.gpx ... xxxn.gpx. They are from a garmin oregon but copies are on the pc. I am using mapsource 6.16.3. Can anyone help?

Hi there, great forum. I have a nuvi 255w that works -- but with issues. There is likely some kind of memory error -- I can change anything I want using the working USB mass storage device driver or on the device once it boots up. Once the unit shuts down, it goes into the screen calibration area and won't do much. After the reseting the device, all the settings default back to how they were before changes are made.

Clearing out all the user data has the exact same effect. Any changes, anywhere, to the 255w have that reboot into screen calibration and then startup with the exact same settings as before. Seems to be an endless loop and I can't get it to save ANY changes at all. Always the same results.
