Hi there, great forum. I have a nuvi 255w that works -- but with issues. There is likely some kind of memory error -- I can change anything I want using the working USB mass storage device driver or on the device once it boots up. Once the unit shuts down, it goes into the screen calibration area and won't do much. After the reseting the device, all the settings default back to how they were before changes are made.

Clearing out all the user data has the exact same effect. Any changes, anywhere, to the 255w have that reboot into screen calibration and then startup with the exact same settings as before. Seems to be an endless loop and I can't get it to save ANY changes at all. Always the same results.
