Thread: A question about (keyboard language in) Garmin Fleet 790

I have at me Garmin Fleet 790. It's Android based device.

The unit work well, exeption the imposibility to change keyboard ( language ) layout in Garmin application itself to language another from system used.

Mean - If you select English - then you can write Address data, Category data ect... ONLY on English. If you select in Settings as language ελληνικά - then you can search same data in Greek only. If you select as language Български, then write is on cyrillic only.

This selection do not change even you on or off in Android Keyboard (AOSP) different active languages.
They ( selected AOSP keyboards ) will work well and you can switch languages between in Email application or File manager for example, but ... no in Garmin app.

The one more thing i found is that there is missing a Factory Reset option in android menu:

even Factory Reset can be done via Android recovery if you boot device in it.

So - the question is HOW to add Globe sign to keyboard layout ( when the unit is ) in Garmin navigation ( app ) - understand = how to change keyboard's languages ?

For all Garmin devices that are based on Android - the behavior is the same as for mobile phones (with some major system restrictions)
For now, everything that needs to be added must be done regular way online only

Unfortunately not

Garmin (as well as TomTom) have closed and protected the systems of these devices so well that any addition, modification, etc. is (almost) impossible

I know that many people are trying to do something, but I also know that it is futile
