Now Trafficmaster TMC has stopped being broadcast in the UK - is there anyway of changing the Nuvi to use Inrix TMC instead? (I have a Nuvi 660).

I think your Nuvi 660 has Bluetooth.
From this link:Talk about worry-free driving. nüvi 660 integrates Bluetooth® wireless technology with a built-in microphone and speaker, so you can pair it with your compatible Bluetooth phone and talk hands-free through the 660 while staying focused on the road. Simply dial numbers with nüvi's touch screen keypad to make a call.
Spoiler: info on the 660
If that is the case then you can link up with Garmin Drive app on your smartphone to get traffic
The Garmin Drive™ app is a simple and convenient app solution for the latest Garmin automotive navigators and dash cams. Visit garmin.com/driveapp for a list of compatible devices.
For compatible navigators, the Garmin Drive app provides real-time information for traffic, parking, advanced weather, and photoLive traffic cameras, in addition to the ability to send and receive calls, texts, and notifications from your Bluetooth-enabled mobile device.Spoiler: Graim Drive app
Looking at various forums it appears that TrafficMaster has stopped broadcasting them via Classic FM
Plus:
There are other traffic app for smartphones.
Inrix TMC I think is for the US.

The Drive app is only compatible with the very latest devices. The Smartphone Link app will provide traffic to earlier devices but unlikely as far back as Nuvi 660 which does not appear on the supported devices list.
They do point out this:
One has to try to see if it will work or not.Older Bluetooth-capable Garmin navigators are compatible with the Garmin Smartphone Link app, and older Wi-Fi-enabled Garmin dash cams can access video footage through the Garmin VIRB app.
But Like I said if this does not work there are other Traffic app out there or GPS app for the smartphone.
I know users who use both their older Garmin or TomTom and a smartphone GPS at the same time to give them traffic or speed camera alerts.
As for the 660 manual there is nothing in there that said it will not work.
If you can make phone calls one just has to try it out.

nuvi 600 comes with FM traffic receiver with vehicle power cable.
Real-time traffic services*
Spoiler: Real-time traffic services*
If INRIX is not in your subscriptions list it won't work, also I think it is digital so unless you have a GTM 60 HD Digital Traffic Receiver it's a problem personally I wouldn't waste money on a new Digital Traffic receiver for such a vintage device .
