You should of gone to the Garmin website before you tried anything.

    Spoiler: Garmin Edge Explore 820

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    Resetting the Device

If the device stops responding, you may need to reset it. This does not erase any of your data or settings.
    Hold for 10 seconds.

The device resets and turns on.

    Clearing User Data

You can restore all of the device settings to the factory default values.
NOTE: This deletes all user-entered information, but it does not delete your history.
Select Menu symbol > Settings > System > Device Reset > Factory Reset > Checkmark symbol.

You do this long before you think about any formatting of a Garmin unit.

Like I said once a week someone formats their Garmin Unit for what ever reason that makes no sense at all..........

Someone will spend a lot of time trying to get you up and running again........

But you should of backed up everything like Magnetron said before you even started to think about doing any formatting anything.....

Use's have to stop formatting Garmin Units thinking is will fix everything, it only screws things up.

Go to the Garmin Help site a read what to do if you have problems.

    BUT DO NOT FORMAT IT.........................

How not to screw up a Germin unit 101
