So here's what I did:
Deleted all 2018.10 files, formatted 32gb card and installed 2017.3o plus additional files.
However I did [U]not[U] install the POI.
Now I do get local (USA) turn by turn directions.
Wonder if I need to reinstall 2018.10 without the POI.
