Than One SD card inserted in the Audio CD 20, It should compare CID of the SD card and from the file where it is hidden.

So you need to know the CID of the SD card which its files shared here so you can search in the files. If you can find the place, It is possible to read CID of other SD cards with using this tool

Thanks for trying to assist, but that's not the answer unless someone wants to part with a Grand or more as mentioned in your link [please CODE outside links btw ]. From that link you provided:
I didnít contact Nexcopy Incorporated for pricing of the equipment, but doing a quick search for the equipment shows me a price of about $1k for the smallest 20 target system and $3k for the largest, 60 target system.

With all this said, there is still no clear-cut method to read CID numbers off SD cards for the home-user, but maybe this article will at least explain why you havenít found a good solution as of yet.
The most reliable way I know of is to use a device capable of reading the CID of the media card, most Garmin GPSs and [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] can do it as can other types of device. Some more info in [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] under SD&Sd id?. Cloning cards is another [unhappy] story.

I'm not sure yet HOW they're handling the CID. One thing that I *HAVE* seen, is that the read it from the card, and then do a memcmp (memory compare) of it against something else. I *THINK* the something else is the "expected CID" that they get from the contents of the .UNL files. So, I would bet that they read the CID in, hash it with some sort of hash, and then store it in the UNL file(s).

Neil, you CAN read the CID evidently.

Now for the BAD news. The error message that smc got above doesn't appear in the code. That tells ME, that the integrity of the .dll is checked by the headunit.

Something I just noticed. In the file GarminDevice.xml, near the end, you see this:

    <CID>744A45534443202010300135A500E200</CID>

So, if you want to test this. Use the tool above, read your CID, and place it in the that file, and see what it does!

Your previous post has been moderated by the system probably because of the non coded link, I'll edit coding the link and enable it now.

Wait, if GarminDevice.xml is a file created by the headunit at install time, that test won't do anything. It's worth a try anyway, just for use as a datapoint.

To state the obvious, i could have been clearer. I was referring only to obtaining the CID [CID's serial number] in decimal. Clearly there are known ways via software on a PC to read the CID serial in hexadecimal. To remove any doubt as to whether that then needs to be reversed before/after converting hex to dec, i.e. 'The most reliable way I know of is to use a device capable of reading the CID of the media card .......' which will give the CID's serial unambiguously in clear decimal. Sorry for any [perceived] 'red herring'/misunderstanding.

    Hi Frank,

    file expired. please reupload. Thx

    * It could be that the application CRCs itself. If THAT'S the case, then we have a possibility. (I might find where this is done, and disable it).

So, to help me determine which of those is the case, I have prepared a test file. The steps for this are the same as they were for the hack above. Slap this on the card, and see what it says.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

(There's lots of slack space at the end of the file. I changed 1 byte of that. If the code checks itself, this should be fine. If the headunit is checking it, it'll still fail.)
(Just in case anyone is curious, the disassembly of this .dll is 9,544,014 lines long. There's lots of room for stuff to hide.

There is an update problem in North America. I have read somewhere.
If you buy it from dealer just return it they will give you older version.
I heard that some audio 20 versions is not compatible never versions of the software or map

Any further luck on this? I read the thread and so far I guess it's not possible to 'clone' an sd card and to make it work?

hey guys, I have a 2015 CLA 220d with the card slot in the dash...

does anyone have any idea what versions of the garmin will work ? ive looked at ebay and they seem to range from £50 up to £400

has the garmin been cracked and loaded to an SD card for use in a vehicle that has not previously had an installation ?
