NA Foursquare added should work but i can't confirm that. NA JCV will for sure, but to get full Voice Command features you'd need to have Full NA mapping or CA & US at a minimum loaded. You could try to add same version CA as an unlocked map on the mirsoSD separate to your purchased US lower 49 then i'm pretty sure that you'll activate all voice command provided you have the corresponding map specific ASR/SRX files in the ASR folder [even though the CA map itself won't be usable for navigation].

That's very confusing of Garmin in regard to the traffic receivers. I know that some current and recent models like nuvi 150 and related series have traffic receives onboard rather than in the charge lead, but i wasn't aware that 2599 didn't use GTMxx. Garmin's product information on your unit and both the GTM60 & 70 indicate otherwise which is what i was relying on, look at these:

    Hi All

With Reference to Traffic Receivers on newer Garmin Units,

Some are built into the unit its self and supplied with a standard 12v looking power cord which also acts as the antenna,
and other units have the traffic receiver in a little black box attached inline on the 12v power cord, These are more chunky and have 2 wires running through them.

So before you rush out and but a traffic receiver for you unit do a simple test

Go into Settings down to the bottom and select device then select About and you will see this screen (below)

NOTE. 3rd line down "Built-in traffic receiver: Yes"

Not mentioned on any of the Garmin sites so thought I would list it here for other confused users

Default GMA Authentication on a Nuvi 57LMT

While currently owning and regularly using two Nuvi’s - a Nuvi 3490LMT and a 1260T – I decided recently to add a 2015 Australia purchased Nuvi 57LMT to the collection, knowing full well the current issues with GMA protection on this model.

I have followed with interest the various threads where Forum members have been able to overcome the Garmin GMA protection on recent Nuvi models and successfully download unlocked maps onto their Nuvi devices.

My 57LMT has v3.5 firmware as purchased and will not accept an unlocked map via any of the more recent GMA work around techniques that have worked for the Nuvi 55/56/65/66. Rolling the firmware back to v2.4 made no difference to a freshly imported unlocked North America 2016.10 map.

Have any Forum members managed to successfully install an unlocked map on a Nuvi 57? If so, can you share the GMA work around process that is specific to this model?

    Hi O_F

I have the same problem, and quick answer to your question is no, there are some that are reverting back to an older firmware version with limited success but in our case we have brought new units which in all honesty why would you downgrade the firmware (that's if you can) so my answers are hold out until some cleaver chap comes up with a new way around it,
Or in my case, in desperation have to buy a genuine map from Garmin, but please note downloads from Garmin don't have Junction views or any other add on features,
But the good news is you can add the JVC file yourself after the map installation, anyway hope this helps.
