I do not understand what difference for kbd files must be present?!
If you want to see Português Brazilian in menu you may edit rename pt_PT.kbd to pt_BR.kbd and change header of file in text editor as you want to see. But why? Diacritic symbols must be the same! The letters K, W and Y is present too...
May be do you mean text file for menu?Garmin, how much is 30 pieces of silver for Judas today? Were they worthy for crucifix of GPSPower?

I think this file does not exist, Looked in the Backup of a brand new 3490 and it's not there.

I also checked my backups for 3790, none available.
I think the OP has to state also the exact model name, if I am right, the kbd file for 3490 is different than 3790

I'm sure pt_BR.kbd doesn't exist too, but can't say for certain. Anyway as Giomen says the EU PT keyboard file works so I'm unsure what the problem is.
Also Tom is correct, the 37x0 and 34x0/35x0 use different files. The 37 kbd files will work in 34 but there are problems as reported here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. I think that the file pt_BR.kbd does not exist; he is used pt_PT.kbd with the same finality. My Nuvi 3597LMT - Brazilian, uses the file pt_PT (07/01/2013) efficiently.
