LOL, have you lot been talking about me while i was asleep? Actually it's a 1690 that I have amongst many others, but no 1695. Rog has saved the day because curiously the kb's are different in the 2 models. 1695 files are comparatively quite big, ~50KB in size while 1690's are only about 30KB like most other models. You'd think like most related 4.3' & 5' models the files would be the same, eg. 13xx & 14xx, 34x0/24x5 & 25x5/35x0, 37x0 & 2460 which use the same kb files in related models. Learn something new every day.

Thank you guys so much!! I'm currently not home, but will try to install them first thing tonight.
I appreciate all your help!
Maybe one more question, if you allow me..
In which folder on the Nuvi is the keyboard file stored? I thought it would be clear, but nowhere I can find the current installed keyboard file (or it is missing all together, which explains my trouble).
Without an appropriate *.kbd file no unit can display a qwerty keyboard and that's why you had no option in settings to choose it. The files are stored in the folder 'keyboards' which must be in the root of the nuvi's memory.
