Hey Tiger! So, I appreciate the instructions, sounds fricken awesome. Couple of questions though:

    1. I'm assuming I'm going to use: "City Navigator North America NT 2013.40 Unlocked IMG" ?
All I want is the most recently updated North America Maps that are possible. Would this do it? Unfortunately, it's in 8 files, and it'll probably take me a few days with the restrictions, so I'd like to get the right file the first time.

    2. I know you said get the chest card, and i'd be okay, but has anyone tested "card read speed" vs "map load speed" from an sd card? Just curious. And it appears that I'd need a microSD, that's obviously correct, yeah?
    a. Can it be SDHC? Or Should it NOT be SDHC?

    Thanks again for the response!

    1) Yes....the 2013.40 is latest release and Unlocked IMG is your correct mapset
    2) any speed-difference btw mapset in root device or SD,only (few) to power on device
    3) SDHC is correct...4--->10 classe, is OK

    Bye,bye

Just to amplify a little on Roger's answer, the Class of a card is only indicative of it's minimum write speed. i.e. a class 4 card will be read at the same speed as a class 10. As your unit only reads from the card normally and does not write to it in normal operation the suggestion to buy the cheapest (i.e. lowest class) card is correct. Your unit can read SDHC. With later fw it can use an image size up to 4GiB. You can use a MicroSD/MicroSDHC in an adapter.

Use the zippyshare links from post #6 here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].
You'll have downloaded the map within half an hour, depending on the speed of your internet connection.

The map is locked though. Unlock with gimgunlock.exe here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].
This will unlock the entire map within seconds.

    Edit:
Accidentally referred to post #5. Should be post #6. Now corrected.
If using the map on a microSD, rename the gmapprom.img file to gmapsupp.img and place in folder named Garmin.
