Yep, and Garmin say up to 30 minutes is normal also after hard reset/clear non-vol.
Wow! Are you Russians still shooting down satellites? 'Coz i'm thinking that you are saying 120 minutes to fix, Giomen. Maybe Australia really is 'The Lucky Country' in more ways than one: I have just hard reset and also cleared non-volatile mem. on my 1300 US (did both for good measure, but after back-up of course), on reboot set locale to United States thinking that might make it harder for sat lock-on here in AU. Had only basemap & preloaded lower 49 in .system, no other maps & no sd. Started TTFF countdown and left nuvi at the edge of my covered patio with a view of less than half the sky. Time to lock on effectively was 10min47sec.
Repeated the procedure, setting locale to Australia with AU map in sd loaded this time. TTFF was 12min50sec. So much for the Country locale setting helping the fix.... but it could have got more cloudy too i think.
Did it all again, locale set to Australia (AU default location is hundreds of kilometres from me), quickly disabled GPS, set location to my home address, re-enabled GPS, started TTFF countdown and back to the patio edge....fix in 7mins53sec.
All very unscientific and nothing really proved i suppose, except that 'small things really do amuse small minds'. :Animated92:
PS: Jeez! I really hope poor mirbar is getting something out of this, seeing he started it.
