    And you can reduce that wait by telling your unit where you are. Turn off the GPS - (Tools>Settings>System>GPS Simulator to 'On': '(GPS turned off (For use indoors)', then go 'Where To'>Choose your address or something very near to you>Press 'Set Location" & then turn GPS Simulator 'Off' to reactivate the GPS. If you still cannot get a satellite lock in a short time you probably do have a hardware problem.

    Good hint. I will try this. But... when I turn on my Nuvi after a long time non using it, the position on map is the same as it was before.
