The OP could learn to use the LDR.Bin commands to copy the contents of the Nuvi to Memory card, etc, etc
There is a lot you can do actually.
It would be nice if someone made a nice tutorial for people that have lost their USB ports to "safely" use the LDR.Bin commands.

It would be nice if I can copy the 2012 map to the Nuvi internal memory from the SD card then I can take the SD card out. Will the LDR.bin commands allow that?
The Answer is Yes,
The commands requires some skills and if used incorrectly can "brick" a Nuvi. I myself am a complete "noob" at using the commands and have only used it to read and write region 101 on a 1300, At some stage I need to upgrade my skills in this area as well.
Maybe one of the more skilled members could put together a mini tutorial for you to do this task.
On the other hand it is safer to use the memory card, as in your case if the nuvi bricks it will be very difficult to unbrick it due to the usb port not working.
