3760 recognizes unlocked maps, in "Map" folder in sd ,named anyname.img
Check if they'r really unlocked with Gmaptool
I've downloaded and unlocked a garmin Australian Topo V3 map (img file) by several different methods and put it in a map folder on a formatted data card BUT it is not recognized by the unit (just doesn't show in the MyMaps menu).
I've tried the same by sending a unlocked map from mapsource with the same result.
What am I missing?

You have to navigate to get to the good.

Thanks for your prompt response catymag, i couldn't work out how to tell if the map was locked or unlocked with Gmaptool???? On the info page it just listed all of the many hundreds of individual maps contained in the composite + FID no's and the like.
So i reformatted, and then ran Fast Imamge unlocked 2.1 and reloaded it onto the sd.
Basecamp sees it no probs and reads it etc, so I'd assume this means its truly unlocked, but the 3760 still does not??
Its driving me nuts?!
Next step please.
To see if the map is locked or not in GmapTool ,drag the img in it and look at the log, if it's locked you'll see the word locked in it
eg:
Btw BaseCamp & HomePort display locked .img maps.Code:Please Login or Register to see the links
May be the sd isnt recognized.

Thanks for directions - & nope, can't find the word "locked" anywhere in the Gmaptool log - see attached. So does that mean its unlocked??
Also the Nuvi does appear to see the SD card - as it does recognize other data - ie it sees the poi file that I've loaded with speed cams????

Sorry to trouble you catymag - but out of desperation all I could think to do is try another sd card and THAT one works fine!!!!!!!
SO it is solved - thanks again for your assistance.
the map is unlocked, so the problem is the folder where you copied it or the map name.
my sd:
The map cant be recognized if named gmapsupp.img in Map folder.
I cant think at anything else
