Yes, always back up before a hard reset. To hard reset, disconnect the receiver/power lead from power source, then turn unit off completely by holding power button down for several seconds, select 'off'. Hard reset won't work in standby mode. Hold bottom RH corner and turn unit on. When prompted, press Yes.
