I will check it so I do not have this problem!!! I get unlock for TMC with unique ID of TMC reciever from Garmin.com and after this TMC receiver work with all Nuvi. As I write above we have only own cradle and power cord with build-in TMC in car but Nuvi may be any that comes handy. It is work fine.

May be you unlock your TMC receiver with ID from Nuvi?

P.S. I check it after returning to home. I have a dozen of old TMC receiver. You know after return Garmin with warranty you may except the device keep the whole rest yourself.

If you unlock GTM25 on your nuvi and add GTM25 on another nuvi you dont need to unlock again becouse subscription is stored in antenna and will work on all nuvi.

I check on Nuvi 765 - any GTM21 reciever with own unlocked subscriptions work with any Nuvi without problem! I am sure that GTM intentionally designed to be a stand-alone unit...
