Thread: Using TMC in Garmin nuvi for free

I did what you've suggested. I managed to activate it and it gives me traffic update but it does not alert me of the traffic ahead. I have to press the traffic icon to get the view of where traffics are.
I have nuvi760.

Any idea why it's doing that? Thanks.

Did you activate the tools/settings/navigation/avoidance/traffic option ?

I activated the traffic option (tools/settings/navigation/avoidance/traffic options) but still does'nt alert me.

On my unit I have to have a route active for it to route me around traffic. If it doesn't know where you're going, how should it know where to re-route you?

Did anyone has any luck with TTN in Canada and US?

Dears,

I have a nuvi 3750 a nuvi 255W and a GMT-25 cable.
Was able to get the unlock codes and insert BR Navteq subscriptions.
Worked fine in Sao Paulo area on 3750 , but as already known from this forum didn't worked on 255W, as it doesn't uses TrafficProvider.xml
My question is : Is it due to device software or the GMT-25 is not compatible with nuvi 255W at all ? If it's only software , maybe there is a mod firmware around that can fix it. or not?
