Is looks like the points, lines and polygons data do not have any type format assigned to them. I also cannot use GPSMapEdit 2.1 nor MicroGISEditor because both these editors require licencing for that particular function to work in them and I currently do not have the funds for that. Is there may be a way one could format the shapefiles directly in ESRI ArcGIS or may be Global Mapper. I do have fully licenced versions of these two programs. Any help with this will be highly appreciated.

You can use *.mp on Polish format and convert to shp with the tool mp2shp very useful. Read the complete post
