I did that long time ago. Haven't done this recently.
But things are really simple when you get used to them.
Just download the MPC software and its cr ack and read the manual and see the samples. Other things like MapEdit, typ, cgpsmapper, hex values etc. stuff written in internet are just...useless ****. Don't look at them.
Hello Please be a good place from where to download the MPC
Is there anybody willing to help me with a way to correctly export ESRI ArcGIS shapefiles in the correct format for use in MPC 8.3 to compile a unlicensed transparent layer Garmin map. Everything works well, my current shapefiles do compile without errors in MPC 8.3 but because my shape files are probably not in the correct format I do not have any correct labelling of my data on my map. Is looks like the points, lines and polygons data do not have any type format assigned to them. I also cannot use GPSMapEdit 2.1 nor MicroGISEditor because both these editors require licencing for that particular function to work in them and I currently do not have the funds for that. Is there may be a way one could format the shapefiles directly in ESRI ArcGIS or may be Global Mapper. I do have fully licenced versions of these two programs. Any help with this will be highly appreciated.
There are other free mapping software that can manipulate the SHP file namely:
QGIS, DIVA-GIS. or you can use the old ESRI ArcView 3.x
Thanks ren1969
I will give QGIS a try![]()
