Just the opposite, this is the most flexible tool in this respect from all available.
Absolutely any custom type of point (polygon or polyline) from the "polish" can be converted to standard or custom Garmin type by means of editing the tab _types.

It has no relation to the defects of this tool. Utility mp2shp takes all info from only the most detailed layer (Level0 in the "polish"), just like other similar converters. Everything else is done by the MPC in accordance with its configuration settings.
