    I see.

I've tried to change different parameters in IMG, and could not make vector data to be visible through the raster layers.
    That's a really unpleasant limitation

I'll try to play with other params, perhaps I've missed some important settings.

    Executive jnx2img.cmd, Display:

    Writing: indexes
    Writing: data MD2
    Writing: data TRF
    Writing: data TYP
    Writing: data MMR
    Writing: maps NT
    Writing: maps MPC
    Writing: other
    Writing: data MPS
    Writing: header
    Done

So to convert the img file is NT version, which is causing coverage contour lines and roads causes it? You can not convert the NT img files?

It's not NT format that causes the problems. With non-NT, the situation would be the same.

The main reason of the conflict is the Map Series parameter in the map header. The converter sets it to a nonstandard value 36 (the same as in GB Discoverer maps and some other).
I can add one more parameter to force the converter not to use this nonstandard value, and create the maps with the Map Series = 24 (default for maps made with Mapsource Product Creator). But in this case, the map levels will be displayed at different zooms depending on the detail level setting in the GPS.
