the routable version allow you to create routable maps without limitations:
Global indexing - find functionality now working in old and new receivers (note: at the moment before using map in GPS, it has to be processed by MapSource to convert global index into GPS format)
Find fastest or shortest route
Support for all kinds of restrictions
Allows routing within GPS or with Garmin MapSource software
Create big routable maps built from several parts
Use all the features of the Pro version
the basic version of the program allows to create basic maps which are compatible with Garmin GPS receivers - If you want to create more advanced maps with POI search functionality - you should check the pro version (personal)
I dont think to convert an already made IMG you require the routable personal version
You have to navigate to get to the good.

Thank you catymag for the reply. Just wanted to confirm that I understood that the key work there is "create". Therefore, since the (already created) individual map files within the gmapsupp.img have previously been made routable, they will still be routable when GMapTool splits them. Then GMapTool can use any version of cGPSMapper (Free or Routable) since it is only used for creating the additional files needed so the individual map files can be used by MapSource.
Hi! All,
I am new to gps editing and needs some advice from knowledgeable seniors here.
I tried using the cgpsmapper ver 0098 to convert garmin australia nt file but encountered this problem:
"Error PE11 : Preview map has to e less detailed than any IMG file in the mapset. Chnage level defnition in the [MAP] section to a less detailed. "
How do I overcome this ?

Sorry for the noob question. I downloaded the Garmin Australia 2009 NT .img file but wish to use the mapsource software to select only certain area to upload into my GPS. The mapsource software is unable to read the .img file, how do I convert it into mapsource readable format? Tried using the mapsettoolkit and the cgpsmapper and got the error message.
Completely new to this, appreciate if any clear instruction on this available.
Thanks a bunch...
Hey Midnight Blues,
I did install today cGPSmapper v0099b Routable release from Team ROGUE on my Vista x64 PC. However although my McAfee VirusScan Enterprise did not see anything, my (free) firewall Windows 7 FireWall Control from SphinxSoftware (sphinx-soft.com) did catch the patcher Patch.exe trying to get on the internet ... Hence it must contain a Trojan ... Therefore it is better to have a functioning FireWall or to disconnect from the internet while installing ...
Well, the Keymaker.exe file appears to be safe ...
Thanks for the tip. I actually tried the free version as well as the routable versions. Since I posted the question yesterday, I found out the map image I was given was of some format that wasn't importable into Mapsource. I don't know why (as I am new to this), but that's what the person who gave me the file told me.
