It takes my map about five minutes to show up on the screen. It says "ready to navigate" and it's blank. Also not a big deal, wait five minutes and it eventually shows up.

If anyone knows some fixes that would be cool.

Other than my gps is awesome and so is this site. I have crammed my gps full of neat things, bilingual dictionaries, cyclops and garmin worldwide safety camera database pois, truckdown( never going to use it but it's fun to have), and 106 hours of music on an sd card. Thanks to caty and Neil I can now unlock and install stuff. Latest firmware ( although it broke the text to speech in the dictionary but hopefully they will fix that.)

Traffic worked for the firs t time today, and i didn't see any ads. ( Never have actually.) And I figured out last position today which rules.
Also how often does Garmin update the normal poi file, and where do I find it?

Can anyone else think of anything cool to do to this 765T of mine?
The POI's are built into the maps. Are updated with each map release as garmin sees fit.

As for the slow performance...
1. try the GPS without the SD plugged in. It probably takes a long time to digest 106 hours of music at boot time.

2. on your map info screen try de-selectin the 3D buildings display on your map info screen see it makes a difference. They really slow down the map update speed and in my opinion are pretty but useless.

3. distance counter off by 150' could be mpoor satelight reception. There are good days and bad days. There is also a lot signal reflection and interference from city buildings. 150' isn't bad.

4. don't start dribing intill the GPS has aquiared satelites. Trying to get a fix when the vehile is in motion can take a VERY long time.
