Hi,

I'm new here. Can I ask how do I install this img into mapsource?
I try toolkit but they are asking me for the 8 digit of the img file.
Please can you tell me the 8 digit?

You can make a simple preview map from an image to install into MS using GMAPTool, but the hitch is that you won't have search functions: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
This is the note at the base of Post #1 in that thread:

NOTE:Remember this kind of mapsource installation wont give you search capabilities
From GmapTool Help: "Unfortunately GMapTool is unable to convert a MDR file form mapset into a format acceptable by Mapsource. Do not bind this file to Mapsource, it will not work properly."

Depending on what you're trying to achieve, a better option for you may be to just use BaseCamp as it can display images.

I read in the reply from Meil that Basecamp can display IMG files.
I tried to open a IMG file in Basecamp but it did not show.
Can you give me some information on how to do tis.

Yes, the password will be used to unpack (unrar).

First download all parts to same folder.
Double click with the right button of the mouse in one of they and the "unpacker (winzip, WinRAR,...)" will ask you a password to can unpack.

So, you have the map. Unlock with gimgunlock, drag the map into the icon to unlock.

Copy it in your nuvi's \Garmin directory
or new devices in .System hidden directory.
In 3xxx and 2xxx you can put it also in sd/Map folder with anyname.img; the last option is the recommended.
