There is a serious design flaw in the Nuvi 1450/1490/50LM that causes the USB charger port to lift off the circuit board. It is positioned so that it sits at a right angle to the PCB and the tension from the USB charger cord in normal use causes many of these USB ports to lift off and pull traces with it. Reflowing is not easily done because of soldered shielding over much of the PCB wiring. And what is up with all of the Nuvi 50LM power buttons breaking off the case chassis? Is this the future of Garmin? Take a 1450, strip it down, remove features, keep the screen, and screw it into an assembly that feels exceedingly light and cheap.
