For my part, I would like to add that the ROM also works on other Navitel models based on Linux.
Hi folks!
I recently dealt with NAVITEL E707 MAGNETIC, trying to run iGO Primo on it. Unfortunately, that was not possible because the device and original Navitel software runs on Linux OS, therefore I hit the wall. Anyway, I found the firmware that transforms the OS to standard WinCE with the generic menu from where you can run any standard WinCE-based navigation. I installed iGO Primo which runs perfectly on that device with 256 MB of RAM and a 7' display.

Extract and copy all files to an empty fat32 formatted SD card. Insert the SD card, power ON the device, and wait until the installation is finished (about 3-5 min). After it's finished, remove the SD card, otherwise installation will start again on the next power cycle.

Enjoy!

Yes, but you need to be careful, some models have 480x272 resolution (E500 for example) which is incompatible with this software. You can install it but the resolution will be wrong.

Correct. Device must be in 800x480 resolution.
Actually, it's WinCE firmware. And as with any firmware, it must be the same chipset and screen for a specific device
Did anyone try this with E700?
As I can see specifications are the same as the E707?

It should work as it has similar specs as E707.

Thanks janch.
Confirmed works on E700. In my case: 1. I had to plug the device into a PC 2. I inserted the SD with the firmware 3. I pressed the reset button 4. Waited for the device to finish loading the firmware.

Great, as expected, thanks for your feedback. Anyway, when flashing any wince device it must be connected to an external power source (charger or PC) because the battery may die during the flashing process, and you will end up with a brick. So most devices cannot be flashed if not connected to the external power source, so it's prevented by design.

While searching around I found firmware for other Navitel models as well.
