    Default Garmin 785 dezlcam American maps convert to European maps

    Good afternoon,

    Can someone please explain to me is possible to convert device in subject line since it is having American maps. I need help to get those maps updated for Europan region and delete the American old ones. If some know, I would be very thankful for support on this.

    My device is Garmin Dezelcam 785LMT

    I have tried newst NTU 2023.10 European maps to SD Card, but device is not recogznizing those maps with statment that maps are interruped and not usable. I would be very thankful if someone has the solution for this, thanks in advance.

    Try NT map. And pay attention to naming of folder/files on card.

    I've already tried changing the NT map folder in SD and "Garmin" or "Map" and the "gmapsuupp" folder itself, unfortunately without success.

    Here are some names used by Garmin OS:

    gmapsupp.img – maps you download, can be both internal and external on a SD card (this name is most common, and it means you can copy it into your GPS internal memory or memory card
    gmapprom.img – built in maps like City Navigator, only internal
    gmapprom1.img – built in extra maps, only internal. City Navigator EU and US need two files
    gmapbmap.img – base map file, can only be internal (on the GPS device)
    gmapoem.imb – OEM maps, only internally

    The above are found in the internal memory of the GPS

    Some in .system folder and some in \Map folder

    I will not spell that out you can check for yourself.


    Then there are these types of map names:

    example:

    City Navagator Europe 2023.10 (type NTU)
    D6210220A.gma
    D6210220A.unl
    D6210220A.img

    These go in the folder (SD) \MAP (can be in the internal memory in the \Map folder too.)

    Plus you can name the map Europe_South.img but the unlock has to have the same name Europe_South.unl

    If you do not have unlock file then you will have to use a patched version of the map for it to work.

    Make sure you do not have the same name maps that are in the memory of the GPS.
    That will not work.

    The name you posted is not correct "gmapsuupp".

    Forget about that name and give it another name.

    Thanks for the nice answer, I tried everything but I couldn't unlock the map, so my device still doesn't see the EU map
