    Default POI icons

These icons and are intended to be used with POIs (kml files) provided in

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ] site.

The brand Logos are the latest released. A couple of them have older most known alternatives for beter visibility on the map.

Created as pure svgs or mixed with pngs and then converted to bmps.

They should be placed in folder:
    ...\content\userdata\Usericon

    along with

the relevant kml files which should be placed in folder:
    ...\content\userdata\poi
In order for the icons to be visible, the name of the bmp should be included inside kml file and more specifically in the below line:
    <metadata><igoicon><filename>name_of_the_bmp_file.bmp</filename>

For your convenience and if you want to use an alternative icon e.g. BMW1.bmp instead of BMW.bmp you can rename the file BMW1.bmp to BMW.bmp and use this name in the relevant line of your kml file:
    <metadata><igoicon><filename>BMW.bmp</filename>
It is easier in case you want to test more than one alternative icons.

    Hello
The names of Poi and KML file do not have to match. I think you are confusing things.
The KML file only has to contain the correct poi name.

    <metadata><igoicon><filename>p4n_logo.bmp</filename></igoicon></metadata>

You are right. But the <metadata><igoicon><filename> inside the kml is exactly the same with the kml name in [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] site.
Let me add you comment to the first post

Indeed one could hope that if there is an image exists in usericon, then a kml of the same name is automatically associated with it, but this is not the case. To associate an image with a KML, you must have a reference of the type <metadata><igoicon><filename>XXXXX.bmp</filename></igoicon></metadata> within the file, otherwise these are the generic icons of igo that are used

That's exactly what I wrote. Read correctly.

correct; since iGO 8.3, KML-POI, Usericon and layout/structure is unfortunately still a never-ending topic that has to be reinvented again and again 👀 have fun 👍🥳
