    The names of Poi and KML file do not have to match. I think you are confusing things.
    The KML file only has to contain the correct poi name.

    Indeed one could hope that if there is an image exists in usericon, then a kml of the same name is automatically associated with it, but this is not the case. To associate an image with a KML, you must have a reference of the type <metadata><igoicon><filename>XXXXX.bmp</filename></igoicon></metadata> within the file, otherwise these are the generic icons of igo that are used
