    Default Help Speedcam

Hello, I would like to know what difference there is between the original Igo Primo radars and the others that are also available. I have been able to see that the originals are kind of a kind of certificate and the others are text files (.txt) and two other files called speedcam.spdb and SpeedcamUpdates.spud.

Can someone explain it to me?

    Thank you.

    Answer
    Spoiler: .

By "original" you mean from providers such as TomTom, HERE, WhereiS, etc...? Those are made by the providers and are in specialize encrypted format such as .spc*, .spe., .spb
On the other hand you can use a text format in .txt that are made by entity such as SCDB or yourself. The data in .txt are converted internally to .spdb and the speedcam you add/change/delete from inside proggy are stored in .spud file. The format of .txt are posted in other threads, but it's just a simple CSV format. Note that you don't directly change .scdb or .spud, you change the .txt which are automatically used to create/update the .scdb The reason that this is done is because while the .txt's are readable and are in same format across many version of iGO/Primo/NextGen, the internal format .scdb and .spud are not. Which mean you should not copy .spcb or .spud across different installation of proggies.
The main different between the proprietary format and the readable text one are the quality and quantity of the data. The .spc format contained directional** and are more accurate but update are slow. The .txt format from SCDB are usually non-directional but updated often and are many but lack the accuracy because they are taken/contributed from users (which can be unverified)

    * .spc are not "certificate", it just identified as such by Window OS
** directional means direction sensitive (both direction or single direction) while non-directional means all directions

The CSV .txt format for NNG is basically

No problem. NNG encrypt their files for a reason and I would change the "balance of power" if I publish the breaking of it. However, I would be willing to convert it to .txt for people who need to fix issue with their .spc But the procedure to do this is time consuming so it's rare if I offered it.
