I use HERE maps and a lot of names of streets are spoken incorrect. I have contacted HERE and they said they do not provide phonetic files to iGO so who makes and decides the phoneme files for them?
also, is there a manual way to change the way street names are pronounced?
example
Town of Dalry in Scotland is spoken as Dal Rie on igo, however the proper way to say it is Dal Rye and Milingavie near Glasgow is said as Milin Gavie yet its proper pronounced Mill Guy.
I use WINCE device not an android one.

Hi Urbexuk
you raise a frequent problem and I hope that through this discussion we arrive at a radical solution
on my side I tried Changes in config_transform_table.lua / config / voice_TTS-Pro-Nuance-Android.zip.
{1, L "Charles III", L "Charle three"},
the result is not conclusive to 100%
is there any other solution I am taker

senior catography manager of uk told me this when met last week at catrography conference
so if tomtom make them how come they in the map packages from HERE?
australian voices seem to be able to say uk place names fine but uk voices struggle
but hate australian voice and prefer uk daniel one.
I don't care who told you, they are wrong. TomTom makes it for TomTom maps. HERE makes it for HERE maps.

You can use TomTom phonemes with HERE maps with no problems.
By the way if you think your scottish street and place. names sound odd you ought to try our maori ones. I did once fix a few by messing about in config_transform_tables.lua as mentioned by LouBouha but there are too many words and too little time.

I also used phoeneme files combined, mostly TT, I added those missing from Here package. Maps are from TT.
But, these files can make a problem if a program is used in a language other than English. And if you use TTS, they are usually unusable.

We are missing sections from the previous version of the forum, are not we?
