Good question...
I do not have much space avaiable in the memory of my Garmin.
Hmmm.
I do not know a way to do this with gmaptool.
Maybe if you install the mapsource unlocked version, select the maps you want and make the .img.
Or, the best way, buy a microsd 4gb. There are people selling it here in Brazil for R$10,00.

That would seem to be a fair comment normally, without taking account of Garmin's quirky way of including bits of other Countries in some maps. E.G.: CNNT Sth America does in fact include Florida (go figure?):
in much the same way as CNNT Europe includes French Guiana (that sorta makes sense):Code:Please Login or Register to see the links
But then FG is also included in CNNT Nth America and CNNT US Lower 49 (again go figure):Code:Please Login or Register to see the links
But i suppose, they are their Maps and just like with their wacky release id's (2013.10 in early 2012) and strange region release timings, they can do what they like (and do).Code:Please Login or Register to see the links

I am relly worndering why Garming releases 2013 Maps if we are still in 2012.... anyway.... thanks for your efforts guys.
@gubbs
Garmin probably thinks it's simple psychological marketing to make you feel like you're getting something ahead of it's time (?). But to me it seems pointless or even self-defeating because most people who bought a 2012.10 in early 2011 wouldn't even think about updating unless the 'old map' reminder popped up on the screen in any case. By 2013 they've forgotten that the '2012' map is really at least 2 yrs old. Probably too late for Garmin to change it easily now, jumping back to the real calendar would cause all sort of confusion, except if they did it by progressively delaying new releases over several years until they caught up with the real years & quarters. It's not even consistent across the world now anyway.
