    Hi.

    I have a small stupid question .

Are .ph files only for Text-To-Speech purposes ? i.e. only for pronouncing by voice processors, in the correct sounds in the names of cities, streets, countries in the native language ?

Or are these .ph files also used for text strings in maps ? I mean, like, translation for text - names of cities, streets and countries in the native language, in rendered maps.

Phoneme files could also translate names from international names of countries, cities, streets... from the English international dial, into the native language, or vice versa. Or am I wrong ?

    Thanks.

    - platform: Android (smartphone)

    phonemes - for correct pronunciation.
But in general, if you had read the structure, then this question might not have been,

I've never used phoneme files on Android.
    I don't notice any difference.

Besides, only TomTom's phoneme files are compatible with Android.

Here's phoneme files are not compatible with Android.
