help The basics for conversion to truck

Please forgive me if this has been posted before but to be honest, there is an abundance of info on this site and it's quite overwhelming!

I want to pick up an older tomtom that I can convert into a truck nav, ideally no more than 20-30. I see plenty on ebay from 500's to 825's to 950's and allsorts of other names like live etc. So what do I need to buy in order to do it as cheap as possible please? I would ideally like to have a device that takes a micro sd card as I have bloody loads of them.

Then, I've come across a couple of tutorials about using truck maps and navcores but was wondering if there is a really simple guide to follow that breaks it down for us oldies!

Also, is live traffic subscription only or is there a way to get the datat from my phone's bluetooth or wifi hotspot?

And finally, as a long distance coach driver, we receive whatsapp messages regarding delays or diversions further ahead, is there any device that could get these whilst I'm driving so I don't have to look at my phone?

Again I apologise if this guide already exists but I am overwhelmed and very anxious. Plus I'm too poor to buy brand new.

If you really need a professional device:
    Look for a Go Professional 620 (don't buy a 6200)
Lifetime maps (nobody knows how long "lifetime" is)
    Lifetime traffic via smartphone
As far as I know, lifetime speed cameras too.
A few years ago, the new price was around 350.
I think you can get something decent for 80 to 100.
