what does the silent voice actually do ??!![/QUOTE]
Nothing!
Hi, having now finally got my new 940 map installed on my old TomTom one v3 ( nav 9510 ) I have installed the latest TomTom speed camera warning files , in the settings for the speed cameras I have set a warning time off 15 seconds, ticked " always " within the warn me when approaching the camera option and finally in the warning sound selection I have choosen " silence " so okay am I correct in saying that having choosen the silent setting I will get warned off the cameras even when not navigating with an actual route.dont have to listen to spoken direction to actually receive camera alerts ? just a bit confused as even when I did not choose silent but instead choose " " attention 1 " I still got the warning even whith no choosen route.
ideally all I want is to have the speed camera warning alerts on all the time , never bother with the actual voice guidance. do I have to turn volume down to stop voice guidance but still have silent on the cam alert menu ?
what does the silent voice actually do ??!!![]()

Yep left myself opern to that one !!
okay will re-word it what is the purpose off the silent voice option, if it does nothing then why there ?
So you STILL get the visible warning on the screen but silently! no bings/bongs/voices.

Okay great exactly the info I was looking for ! What confused me was that when I used to use the alternative PGPSW speed cam database the speed cam files were part off the actual poi list, adding / enabling the silent voice option gave you the ' audible ' warnings for the cameras even when you had no route planned / no spoken voice guidance.
Thanks again thou bit wiser now.
