Do the have the corresponding .bmp files?
I would not bother too much as navigating to a POI is fine but the more POI's show on the map, the slower your device will get.
I installed the Truck map onto my GO 930T (with some help), I copied the POI's I wanted from the Western Europe maps into the Truck folder & I can see them there if I navigate to a POI, if I select one it shows on the info map. If I select the show on map option though none of them are displayed on the map with the exception of the home symbol? I switched back to my original Western Europe map & they don't show up on this map either??

All the BMP files related to the OV2 files are there, the icons show on the page for selecting to navigate to but they don't display on the map. I find having some of the POI's displayed on the map useful as I can sometimes plan to make a detour to a POI. I have lots of AIres/Motorhome stopping places, LPG stations etc. which I am able to plan a route to pass a POI if I need to. Trying to select one from the list without knowing where they are on the map isn't much use.
That is correct but not enirely
Even when on a route you can "navigate to POI near you", but I understand that in your case that is not really helping.
Ok, back to basic mode:
What Navcore is installed, what emulation in use?
Is any of the POI's, that is included in the maps files, showing up on the map, e.G. Airports, Gouvernment buildings....?
Is the selection for showing on the map correct? - if there is no tick box selected for showing in 3D map view than during normal navigation you won't see them, doublecheck the settings for that too please.

I found the problem (again my fault) although I had selected the POI's to display I hadn't realised on the map display I hadn't checked the 'OPTIONS' the POI wasn't ticked. Hadn't realised this as it seems that before I changed the map they would be on by default.
