If I hang this tomtom on the PC gives that error message so can not access the memory NOT got it underway with an 8GB SD card.
but actually want to erase the internal memory, old maps and software.
with clear flast tried but he does not see the SD card is read by the tomtom I can not do something there what the internal memory knew?

What error message ?If I hang this tomtom on the PC gives that error message
Give us some more info about the status of the device
-Is the device working normal at the moment?
Some things to try.
Remove the sd card temporally.
Use a good quality usb cable.
Connect the TomTom to a usb slot on the back of the computer (don't use a hub)
Turn on the TomTom and look to the explorer if it is showing up in to the explorer.
