    Default Tom tom 4pn50

    Hi! Need help to recover this gps, he boots but gives this message. I had insert a 8gb micro sd cart and connected by usb to laptop and run tomtom mydrive connect tool. Gives message it's recovery device but tool crashes every time.

    Colleague, you are active in other sections so you haven't followed the story about the new models.
    I will write the whole issue for all the members who read this.

    It is TomTom Go 520 5" (4PN50) new generation model.
    Like all new TomTom models, its firmware is based on the Android system (deeply customized by TT)
    If at all possible, it can only be recovered using official TomTom online tools.

    The firmwares cannot be found anywhere, none is officially released or available anywhere on web


    Make sure you did everything right, used quality cables/adapters, a quality mSD card, and that the (windows) laptop and its system are in good condition. Be very sure about card and reader/writer

    But it happens, the device breaks down, all that remains is a complaint.

    By the way, I think you're making a mistake.
    You need to plug the card into the RW reader, the tools will put what they need on it, and then you insert the card into the device.
    I'm not claiming that, since you haven't completely described everything you did.

    Hi! Thanks for replying but not problem with cable or micro sd, they are good.
    What you mean with tom tom online tool? Mydrive connect isn't the right tool to recovery it? Tia

    Yes, MyDrive Connect, but you can also use TomTom Home
    You can try both, sometimes helps.

    Did you tried Soft Reset (and hard)?

    I tried, tt home doesn't detect device. One splash screen says something about fleet... normal or it belongs a company fleet and it's locked?!

    But then, certainly the procedure is not applicable, because of

    That would then explain why I was unable to recover several devices of that type
