Default TomTom Start 50 cannot restore maps

    hello.
A Start 50 came to me starting in recovery. I connected to pc and started my drive connect. It restored my device and the device starts but cannot pass the CHOOSE COUNTRY. I started again my drive connect and the internal memory is empty - it shows no map.
I cannot go beyond CHOOSE COUNTRY step because there is no map installed. And i cannot restore old map. What ca i do?

My brother had the same problem.
I connected the TomTom to my account to MyDrive Connect access and it new that the maps were missing.
Took about 45mins and all was back to normal.

Things do happen for one reason or another.

I would download the latest version of MYDrive Connect.
Spoiler: This is the Dutch one but you can switch to the country you need

Just checked with TomTom and you will have to buy new maps.

I enter recovery mode, connect to my drive connect - it is restoring my device and after restart it stay like that forever. If i disconnect and reconnect it shows that my device is UP TO DATE, but without the map.
    I don't know what i can do!

Open mydrive connect, click on settings, click download tab, then click empty download folder, quit mydrive connect (totally shut it down) and then retry. That sometimes fixes the problem.

The Go 50 generally comes with either Europe or Western Europe maps, the Europe map is now to large for the available memory so you will keep going around in circles if that's what you are trying to install. I just had this same problem with an Go 60 which my m8 bought off fleabay, even an sd card was not recognised.
After completing the steps outlined above I think I clicked on manage maps and the chose just the UK & Ireland map which installed with no problems and the sd card was then recognised. After this install I then went to my content in mydriveconnect and was given the option to change map where I chose the Western Europe map which installed no problem. The Western Europe map is about 5.6gb where the Europe map is around 8.5gb, the available memory in the Go 50 is 8gb hence the problem. I had a look on the TomTom forums and saw that many people had the same problem as you, I played with it for a while and either got lucky or found the answer to the problem myself.
