    Thanks . No offence taken but the satnav is bricked as it is anyway so even if I did make any mistakes during any download I wouldn't have lost anything. No worries I'll look elsewhere.

    Back to square one means back to where I started from. OS on my laptop is Windows 10.

    This could be a big problem. Best OS for device manipulation is XP, but Win7 could serve. Try to find another PC/notebook with it.
