Hello everyone. Trying to find a link to download bootloader 5.5120 to my Tom Tom Rider V2. I used search and found plenty of posts about it but no download? I'm not computer savvy at all but I understand that in order to get bootloader 5.5120 I am going to have to download it from somewhere. Any advice would be appreciated.Thanks.

Hi biggerdave. Tried putting the tom tom sd card into my laptop but it wouldn't run. When I leave the sd card in the tom tom and connect it to the computer it finds it ok. I copied the bootloader file 5.5120 but I'm not sure exactly where I'm meant to be pasting it in the tom tom sd card? As I said previously,I'm a novice when it comes to computers, would you mind giving me a bit more help? Cheers.👍
Not card.
Extract and put file in root of device's internal memory.

I just want to be able to continue using my tt Rider v2. Tom Tom say they will no longer update my sat nav as the sd card memory isn't large enough to take the data on the updated maps(western Europe) and the only solution they offered was a discount on a new model. If I can't figure out how to increase the memory I'll just have to put it in the bin!
Cheers for the advice guys but I still can't figure out how to load the bootloader 5.5120 onto my tt Rider.
After connecting sat to my laptop and opening the tom tom folder what file am I supposed to be pasting the bootloader to? The files I can see are "system " 634kb or "ttsystem" 6099kb if I right click on either file there is no option to paste. Don't even know if that's how you do it. Which file should I be looking at to paste to? Apologies for all of the questions but if you don't understand these things it is difficult.

Hmm, it is basic computer knowledge.
You can not paste file on file In addition, you have to distinguish the file from the folder.
In Windows you need to have hidden and system files displayed. Unpack file from archive, you got "system". Right click on it - choose copy.
Then, right click on empty space near "system" file in the device memory (or sd card, or both), then click paste.
Windows will ask if you want to overwrite it, and if you are sure, confirm.
Of course, first of all - backup. Backup current "system" file in safe place in your PC.
Appreciate your reply and it I'm sure it is basic computer knowledge to some but not everyone. I followed your instructions copying system file, however when I right clicked in the empty space next to system file there was no option listed to overwrite,so I'm back to square one. Perhaps there's something wrong with my computer?
@Whippet, please don't take this the wrong way but if you do not understand the very basics of using a PC (nothing wrong with that, we all had to start from nowhere) then could you not ask a friend/family member/neighbour to help you out on this ?
As I say, no offence but as they say, "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing" & you could easily end up bricking your device which would be a shame
