well, I know where and how to find your tutorial and sorry to say that but I'm not really clever after reading your thread.
Very simple way to add POIs is :
using MyDrive Connect.

connect to the PC, click once on the MyTomTom icon in the system tray and click on Add Community Content, then "add POI" and away you go.

It's just a matter of missing warning sound.
